About Us
Pre-Mix White Reflectance Coating is a composite of barium sulfate, binder, and solvent formulated to yield paint with high diffuse reflectance of radiant energy in the ultraviolet, visible, and near infrared regions of the spectrum. Coating can be applied by spraying and readily forms a uniform coating on metal, plastic, or glass. It is ideal for use as the original or replacement coating for integrating spheres, and in reflectance spectrophotometers, color difference meters, sphere photometers, and other similar instruments. Even make your own diffusing test target. Coating yields absolute reflectance values >98% in the visible spectrum and gives even, diffuse reflectance from 200nm to 2500nm. It is not luminescent making it ideal for spectroscopic use. The coating is typically stable against high intensity radiation, but prolonged exposure (especially UV) can decrease reflectance. However, exposure to normal atmospheric conditions for nearly 6 months causes almost no change (coating is not water resistant).
Application instructions are included. Pre-Mix White Reflectance Coating requires mixing with equal volume of pure, 200 proof ethanol prior to painting. It can over approximately 200 square inches when applied as ideal 1.5mm thick coating; minimum coating thickness for specified performance is 0.64mm.
