The SL20 Super Base is a high precision ball and socket mounting platform that provides free spherical motion over a complete hemisphere.
The locking mechanism ensures a positive holding force that can support 50kg centralized loads or 27N m (20 ft-lbs) cantilever loads.
Applications include flexible inspection systems (video or optical microscope), target positioning, and detection systems.

The mounting platform, complete with a generous array of 1/4"-20 (M6) tapped holes, can be swung into arbitrary positions in addition to a full 90º vertical position. The entire ball and socket mechanism can be rotated about a vertical axis. A convenient radially laser engraved scale offers 2º graduations, labeled every 10º.

Positional stability is provided via a heavy duty 3/16" hex socket locking screw.
